The Old City of Jerusalem

Our first (of many) tour on Hasbara Fellowship! We went for a historic walking tour of the Old City of Jerusalem. All of us fellows, walking around the beautiful Old City, sharing our huge bottles of water to quench our thirst in the blistering sun. The streets are made of Jerusalem stone, yellowish in colour. It was weird to see kids running around in daycare, and people living normal day-to-day lives in the Old City, so close to the religious centers of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. My home for the next 2 weeks is in the Old City as well. Going out to cafes, using the internet, or eating pizza with my friends, while sitting in a 2000-year-old holy place, where thousands of people are praying only minutes away, is simply surreal.

Love, Carmit
